There’s No Place Like Home.

Hi, guys👋🏽 what’s up? Thanks for hanging out with me today. I hope everyone is doing well. I also hope that you had the chance to check out my last blog post.

I decided that I needed a vacation. I told my husband that I wanted to take a vacation and he said ok. Granted there is a pandemic happening so it’s not like we can do a whole lot. With that being said, I’m truly ok with that. I just want some peace and quiet while relaxing and taking it easy. I told my husband that I wanted to go to Delaware.

I’m sure you wondering why I chose Delaware. It’s really simple because I wanted to visit my parents. I haven’t seen my mom in a while and there’s nothing like spending time with family. My mother always has everything ready and setup whenever I or any of my sisters come home. We stay up late all night talking and bonding catching up and enjoying mother and daughter time. My first two nights here my mom and I slept on the sofa because we were up so late talking way into the morning. When this vacation is over It’s going to suck that I have to go back home to reality.

Don’t get me wrong I love my home in Georgia, I just hate leaving my mom behind. I’ll be sad for a little while but I’ll get over it. As I’m writing this it’s now Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Which means it’s Self Care Tuesday. My mom and I will do some Virtual Reality gaming but first, we just might hop in the hot tub. I plan to enjoy every minute and every second of the day while I’m here because I just don’t get back home often enough. When I come home to visit I feel like a big kid. It feels like I never left home at all.

There’s nothing like sitting and talking with your mother about the past, present, and future. There’s nothing like being in the kitchen and helping to make dinner. We actually did taco Tuesday last night, which I really enjoyed. I also enjoyed my glass of wine 🍷. After dinner, we sat on the sofa watching one of those commercials that would normally come on wee hours in the morning advertising those 70’s music CD collections. Y’all know what I’m talking about, lol. Anyway, we watched the commercial until I fell asleep. It was definitely a long day. I was in bed by 9:30 and I was really tired. Fast forward to this morning Wednesday, July 29, 2020. I woke up early this morning so I could finish this blog post and enjoy my coffee outside since this morning is much cooler than the last few days. I walked my mother’s dog this morning so she wouldn’t have too and then went inside to make coffee. My mom and I started talking and before I knew it we were drinking coffee inside instead of outside, lol. That’s how caught up we get when we are conversing, lol.

I can at least say that I’ve made it outside now as I finish off this blog post. I don’t want to completely bore you with my life story although this is a personal blog, 😂. I’m just really happy to be home and I’m blessed and I thank god for his blessings. I have a couple of days left on this vacation before we depart ways. All I can truly say is that there is no place like home.

Let me know down in the comments if you agree with me.

  1. I can agree wholeheartedly as there’s no place like home. I’m glad you enjoyed yourself with your parents. For some strange reason – as I couldn’t rest well last night, I found myself Google mapping my past neighborhoods and houses where I once lived in Chicago. It was if I was really there in my head( lol) . Although my parents are deceased, I must make it back to “Chitown” to visit my siblings, nephew, niece and cousins. There’s definitely no place like home-where it started!

    1. How often do you get the chance to go back home to see your family? It’s funny that you said while you were google mapping your old neighborhood it was like you were really there. With that said have you tried doing that in virtual reality? I’m not too sure if your able to do it on your PlayStation. I’ve done that on my quest using Wander and it was awesome. I really felt like I was there.

      1. Hi there again. How’s your morning?
I haven’t been back to Chi since 2016, and it’s definitely on my travel list. I think what I’m going to do is book a return flight, AirBnB, and rent a car and pop up on them randomly( surprise tactics!😂) I tell you my sisters would be ecstatic and will be ready to take me all over the city like last time.

      2. Also I haven’t gone that far to check to see if my PSVR has that app feature on their site. I’ll check for it. Tell me what did you see baby girl on your virtual scene touring? 😍

      3. I just went to check out my old neighborhood and where I went to school. Lots. Of memories came flooding back. I also saw just how much things have changed in NY since I’ve been in GA.
