I Finally Did It.

Hi guys, thanks for hanging out with me. It’s been a while since I’ve dropped a blog post. I hope you guys are doing well especially now with everything that’s happening in the world.

When I was about 14 or 15 I discovered this record my mother had in her collection. I always went through my mother’s records because I was always looking for something to dance too or sing too. My mother had a ton of records and you could get lost for hours just going through all the stacks she had. When I would find something that I really liked, I would take it back to my room so I could play it.

I remember my dad giving me his stereo which was perfect because I could play records on it and still play my cassette tapes and I could still hook up my cd player to it as well. One day I found this record titled Teresa Class Reunion.

So I put on and I fell In love with the album. I think it was an import but I don’t remember. I learned all the word’s to the songs. I would stay up late every night when I should have been in bed because I had school the next day. I didn’t care and for some reason, I just wasn’t tired. I stayed up and played the record as I sang the song to myself in the mirror as if I was on stage somewhere performing.placeholder://

I had a red scarf🧣that I would take and make a head wrap with, put on some lipstick 💄 , and sing my heart out. It got to a point where my mom started to worry about me because I wasn’t getting any sleep. Nothing was wrong, I just couldn’t sleep. I think I had insomnia at the time. I played that record every chance I had. As time went on we ended up moving but my mother hadn’t sold the house yet. Needless to say, I don’t know what happened to that record. Over the years I would think about it. For the life of me, I could never remember what the album was actually called. All I could remember was the artist’s name and one of the songs from the album.

From time to time I would search online for the record but could never find it. It drove me crazy that I couldn’t find this album. I would look on YouTube and find nothing. Then one day I decided to look again to see if I could find it. I checked YouTube and someone had posted a song from the album along with the album cover. I nearly fell over, the excitement that filled my body made me want to jump for joy. I started doing some more searching and then it hit me. I should check Amazon; and so I did. Low and behold to my surprise, I was able to find the record. There was one seller on Amazon, that had it. At the time I found it, that was back in 2018. I went on and added it to my favorites list. I would check periodically just to see if they still had it in stock. At that time I believe they had 2 that was still brand new and one that was used but like brand new.

Well, I don’t remember what made me think about this record, but I was on Amazon over the weekend and I noticed that the seller only had 1 record left in stock. Which means I had to buy it right then in there. It’s not like I’m really going to find it somewhere else. It was already hard to find and it took years. There was no way I could let this slip through my fingers. I clicked the button and added it to my cart, next it was time for me to check out. I’m so excited and I can’t wait for it to arrive. It should arrive on the 17th I think. Now all I have to do is get a record player, lol so I can play it.

Update: My album arrived on Thursday and over the weekend I purchased a record player. I’m definitely satisfied with both purchases.

  1. That’s the most touching story I’ve heard in awhile. I’m so ecstatic you found your long-lost album, as music-memories are the bedrock of who we are as humans. Happy singing and listening!🙏🏿
